For you and the children there are seven beaches to choose from. The largest of these are Sant Sebastia and Barceloneta beaches; they are also the most commonly frequented.
There are 68 municipal parks, divided into 12 historic parks, 5 thematic (botanical) parks, 45 urban parks and 6 forest parks. They range from vest-pocket parks to large recreation areas. The parks cover 10% of the city.
There is a fantastic football stadium called the Nou Camp, it has guided tours around it for people interested in its past and present history.
If you enjoy architecture then there are many gothic style buildings especially in the older part of the city. The Sagrada Famila church designed by Antoni Gaudi is still being built today.
You will certainly enjoy the ramblas famous for its many street performers and artists and in the evening you can party until the early hours in its many pubs and clubs.
