There are a lot of websites and services that connect people with other people around the world so they can stay for free. It’s a great idea. The traveler gets free accommodation and the local gets to show the person around and both get to meet someone new. It’s really great. The idea is that by connecting people you break down barriers plus as travelers it is really hard to meet locals when you stay in hotels and hostels. There are a lot of tips for using homestay websites but the one safety tip I would give a new user to these sites that make sure the person who are staying with has reviews and recommendations plus has gone through the verification process to ensure they aren’t some axe murderer!
