Ahead of its Time
One game that was possibly really ahead of its time in many ways was the 1985 game Bard’s Tale. While most games of the time were very simple and usually just involved getting high scores on games, this game was a little ahead of its time. Loosely based on the dungeon and dragons playing scheme the game was complex for the time and was well done. It also hosted some of the first ever 3D graphics as well. In a time where games were based on simplicity it was a new and fresh look to find a game that tried to be more complex.
