Spa Breaks, Not Just With regard to Hens

For those of you who have never been on a spa break, don’t be a chicken and try it out, you’ll never look back and regret it. Spa breaks aren’t just for hen parties, wags and bored housewives, they’re for everyone, including men. A spa weekend is really just an excuse to stay in a gorgeous hotel, being pampered from head to toe whilst sipping champagne and gorging on fine foods – if that doesn’t appeal then it probably is best that you stay at home.Don’t get me wrong, spa weekends are a great idea for brides to be hen weekend mothers, mother-in-laws, sisters and friends, they’re a great way to relax and preen before the big day and they definitely encourage all the ladies to get along famously. From small treats such as shoulder and neck massages to pedicures all the way through to the works with full body massages, body wraps and the pedicure, manicure and facial set, whatever you want (or need!) will be at your beautifully manicured finger tips. For the spa novices, think sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi and seriously relaxing massages on tap; there’s absolutely no need to dive straight into waxing, facials and full body mud packs but you might well be tempted once you’re uber relaxed. Spa weekends really are for everyone, whether you’ve got a particularly stressful job and you want something completely unrecognisable from your usual Monday to Friday or you just feel run down and unattractive, a good spa weekend will have you back to your old self in just a few treatments.Ladies, why not make yourself feel totally gorgeous again with a full body exfoliation, moisturising wrap and maybe even a spray tan, finishing it off with a pedicure, manicure and makeover before heading to the hotel restaurant or for a night out in whichever location you’ve chosen.Men, treat yourself to a day in the leisure facilities, start with an invigorating swim before jumping into the sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi to let those muscles completely relax. And men, massages aren’t just for the women, they’re for you too but if you’re having trouble warming to the idea, just picture yourself as Wayne Rooney or David James or any other sportsman as these guys have regular massages to keep themselves relaxed, supple and injury free. The important thing when choosing a spa break is looking into the location and the hotel itself as the surroundings are what make or break the whole experience. Look for a luxury hotel or for a boutique hotel in a place you love or a place you’d love to go to and you won’t go far wrong.
