The Two Kinds of Biometrics Industry
There are actually two studies called biometrics. One is involved with measurements of living things and the environment and the other better known field is the one concerned with making measurements of individual human parts and movements. The former study is related to life sciences like ecology and forestry. This study is much older than the latter and is a necessary component of most kinds of studies in this general direction. The latter definition of biometrics industry is involved with measuring the body parts and the movements of unique individuals so that they may be used for identification or to match or contrast, whatever particular action is necessary at the moment.
