Learning a New Culture
While I was working with New Tribes Mission, I had the opportunity to do God’s work while living with the tribal people in Papua New guinea. I had never been there before, and for the first while that I was there, I was terribly depressed at the state of which these people live in. Although this is the only life they had ever known, I knew that they knew there was better out there. I lived with these people for three years. I learned the language and the culture and I was able to teach them how to read and write through scripture and even taught some of them basic English so that we all could communicate better.
