The Absent High Blood Pressure Symptoms

Hypertension has long been known as the silent killer because it can develop slowly over a number of years without producing any high blood pressure symptoms while silently causing considerable, and often ultimately fatal, damage to the body.

High blood pressure can affect many of the organs of the body including the kidneys, eyes and the brain, but is perhaps most commonly known for the affect which it has on your arteries. One frequent effect of high blood pressure is a hardening of the arteries as excessive pressure damages the cells which form the lining of your arteries. Another problem however is that of an aneurysm. Constant high pressure in a weakened section of artery can cause the wall of the artery to form a bulge, or aneurysm, which, if it ruptures, can result in life-threatening internal bleeding. Although this can occur in any of the body’s arteries, it is most commonly seen in the aorta which is the body’s largest artery.
