Anonymous Donor Helps Animal Shelter Buy Medication
Five years ago, with the help of a group of friends, I started a no kill animal shelter. We take in abandoned and abused animals, or help owners find homes for pets they can no longer care for. The animals stay with us until we can find new homes for them. If adoption is not possible, they live out the rest of their lives in comfort here at the shelter. It has not been easy finding enough funds to keep the shelter operating. We have fund raisers and many generous people donate money and supplies. The local vets work with us at reduced rates, but the cost of Pet Meds is still one of our biggest expenses. I contacted our local congressman’s office hoping he could help us. Imagine my surprise when he personally called and told me he knew of a constituent who wanted to make a sizable donation to the shelter to help purchase medications. To this day I still don’t know who this wonderful person is, but I will always be grateful for their help.
