My sister has the three most beautiful, photogenic children.  There is her daughter from her first marriage who is very blond with beautiful green eyes.  she is 11 and a half years old.  Then there are her two children from her current marriage:  her daughter is two and a half and has auburn hair and chocolate brown eyes, and her son is seven months old and has dark brown hair and dark brown eyes.  They are beautiful together.  I babysit for them so I have some great access to taking some great shots.  I took one of them laying in some beautiful sugar maple leaves after they fell off the tree in front and had the photo printed with canvas photo printing.  She loved her birthday gift that year!

After the children left the nest, so to speak, my husband and I turned to each other and said, Redecorate! The first room we addressed was our bedroom. No longer did we have to have a bedroom that was family friendly, including the cats and dogs, that was snuggly for late Saturday morning family lie-ins. We could indulge our dream of purchasing silk duvets and bedding, with a proper adult king size four poster bed and silk pillows. The room became our retreat, a haven of luxury and restfulness, a place to read and dream and romance. Won’t the children be surprised!

One of the great things about living in the Midwest is the changing of the seasons.

And even though I’m not a big fan of the long, cold winter, there’s meaning and purpose in it.

Our family loves the outdoors.

And the seasonal changes, with all their variety, are wonderful ways to experience the great outdoors.

A few years back, we added a deck onto our home (as part of a larger construction project) and one of the first things we bought was a nice set of teak garden chairs, side tables, and one large table.

As long as we maintain it, it will be last a long time.
