There are a number of products which can be used to keep your shower clean. These shower cleaning devices, and solutions can be very expensive. What if your on a budget and cannot afford these cleaners? We explore some ways to keep your shower clean, and save money.
Squeegee: Works great on plastic shower walls. Can work on tile depending on the depth of the grouting. The last user of the shower would squeegee the walls and glass, this will remove moisture and dirt. This is a perfect solution if you don’t mind the extra effort. A towel will also work, but would be less effective at removing soap scum.Glass Treatments: There are a couple of ways to make glass bead water. Oil can be applied to the glass, if you don’t mind contaminating your tub with the rinsed off oil. A better solution is Aquapel Glass Treatment. This product creates a chemical bond with the glass which will make the glass bead water for about 6 months. You’ll still need to clean the rest of your shower, but your glass shower doors will bead water like a champ. Vinigar and Water: Most Internet recipies I would not try out unless I know for sure what the chemical reaction would be. There are some dangerously toxic mixtures you can make with household chemicals, so read the lable and only use as the manufacture suggests.
That said, the vinigar and water mixture would create a weak acidic solution which should be safe, but the odor could be offensive. A suggested recipe is 1 part plain white vinigar to 3 parts water. This would be put in a spray bottle and used after showers to keep an already clean shower clean.
