In general, lenders will review your income and determine, based on their preset guidelines, whether or not you qualify. If their guidelines present that you are capable of making your current mortgage payment, it is likely that they will not grant to modification. Ironically, this type of program is for people who cannot afford to pay. This process can be complicated, but it is worth it just in case you and your lender are able to come to an agreement.
