How Long Can You Expect Members To Stay In A Paid Membership Site

In the paid membership site model, unless you provide exceptional value, or a service that is really needed month in, month out, your members will not stick around forever. This is why it is so important to continue generating a constant supply of leads to convert into new members.

So, how long can you expect people to stay members? On average, it’s about 3 to 6 months. In some niches, particularly business niches, this might be longer, provided that the service is essential to the running of the business, or adds to the bottom line of that business in a significant and measurable way.

This doesn’t mean that a membership site with a shorter member life span isn’t good value for the business owner. Quite the contrary – 3 to 6 months is still good income, and you’ve built up your list of customers who may buy other products from you again.

Of course, with good content, and the right price point, your members may well outlast this industry average.
