When you are purchasing used cars by owner it’s always a good idea to ask the owner of the car for its maintenance history. If a car is over fifteen or twenty years old chances are that the present owner isn’t the first owner and he won’t have the car’s history. This is exactly where you can hit the nail on the head. The more dirt you can kick up on the car the easier it will be for you to negotiate a lower price. Make sure that you tell them that this car will need to be sent in for repair work before you can use it.
