Department of State is unaware of any HIV/AIDS entry restrictions for visitors or foreign residents of Japan. Also, it is important to remember that “Long-Term Resident” and “Permanent Resident” are different and are subject to different requirements. All foreign nationals entering Japan, with the exception of certain categories listed below, are required to provide evidence that they do not have criminal records should request such Rocket Japanese service at FBI Identification Record Request.
