When my son went to Paris for his 3 week vacation he decided he wanted to know what it felt like to live there instead of just being another tourist. His research found that he could get a Paris flat rental for the time he would be there. He made an effort to dress like the locals do and even though he didn’t speak French very well he found he was treated with more acceptance the the tourist were. He made some friends and is already planning his next visit there. One of the friends has offered to let him stay with his family. This would never have been possible if he had stayed at a tourist hotel.

All my life I’ve lived in the Midwest. And for the most part, love it here.

The change of the seasons with the different colors and temperatures is a welcome switch of pace and often enjoyed.
